The abducted victim is a 10th class student of a girl high school under Kasba police station of Brakshanbaria district. On the way to and from the victim’s school, the mathematics teacher of the said school would often call him separately and tease him with various sexual propositions including love proposals. Also, the victim had been showing various threats including kidnapping her if she did not agree to his bad proposal. When the victim reported the matter to the family, the victim’s family stopped the victim from going to school.
Later, on November 28, 2023, at approximately 0700 hours in the morning, the victim woke up and went to the side of the road in front of their house. In a pre-planned manner, Iqbal Hossain, the mathematics teacher of his school, suddenly got down from a CNG and forcibly kidnapped the victim and took him to an unknown place in a CNG. At that time, when the victim screamed, her mother came out of the house and saw her daughter being taken by maths teacher Iqbal Hussain to a CNG unit. Later, when the victim’s mother informed the family members about the matter, they went to the school teacher’s house and inquired about the abduction, and the accused Iqbal Hossain’s mother said that she did not know anything about it.
The father of the abducted victim filed a kidnapping case on December 03, 2023 at Kasba police station of Brakshanbaria district, making school teacher Iqbal Hossain the sole accused. whose case No- 02, dated 03 December 2023, Section- Women and Child Torture Suppression Act 2000 (Amended-2020). After the case was registered, Kasba police station of Brakshanbaria district came to know that the accused school teacher Iqbal Hossain was staying in Chittagong with the victim.
Based on the said information, the victim’s father filed a written complaint with RAB-7, Chittagong for quick rescue of his daughter and arrest of the abductor. In view of the said complaint, RAB-7, Chittagong continued intelligence surveillance and shadow investigation with the aim of rescuing the abducted victim and arresting the accused. During surveillance, RAB-7, Chittagong came to know that the accused Iqbal Hossain is staying in Katghar area under Patenga police station of Chittagong city. On the basis of the said information, on 03 December 2023, RAB-7, Chittagong raided the said area and arrested accused Iqbal Hossain (32), father-deceased Aru Mia, Sang-Nibra, Thana-Kasba, District-Brakshnbaria. is Later, in front of the present witnesses, the arrested accused confessed in the interrogation that he had abducted the teenage victim with ulterior motive by giving various threats.
The arrested accused have been handed over to Kasba police station of Brakshanbaria district for further legal action.
