Bangladesh Army peacekeepers killed in terrorist drone attack on UN peacekeeping mission base in Abyei, Sudan

Dhaka, 14 December 2025 (Sunday): A drone attack was carried out by separatist armed groups on the Kadugoli Logistics Base under the UN peacekeeping mission in Abyei, Sudan yesterday (Saturday) from approximately 3:40 pm to 3:50 pm local time. In the attack, 6 (six) Bangladeshi peacekeepers on duty were martyred and 8 (eight) peacekeepers were injured.

1. Corporal Md. Masud Rana, ASC (Natore)
2. Private Md. Mominul Islam, Bir (Kurigram)
3. Private Shamim Reza, Bir (Rajbari)
4. Private Shanto Mandal, Bir (Kurigram)
5. Mess Waiter Mohammad Jahangir Alam (Kishoreganj)
6. Laundry Worker Md. Sabuj Mia (Gaibandha)
Names of Injured Peacekeepers:
1. Lieutenant Colonel Khondaker Khalequzzaman, PSC, Ordnance (Kushtia)
2. Sergeant Md. Mostakim Hossain, Bir (Dinajpur)
3. Corporal Afroza Parvin Iti, Signals (Dhaka)
4. Lance Corporal Mohibul Islam, EME (Barguna)
5. Private Md. Mejbaul Kabir, Bir (Kurigram)
6. Private Mosa Umme Hani Akhter, Eng. (Rangpur)
7. Private Chumki Akhter, Ordnance (Manikganj)
8. Soldier Md. Manazir Ahsan, Bir (Noakhali)
Necessary medical treatment is being provided to 08 (eight) injured peacekeepers. Among them, Soldier Md. Mejbaul Kabir has already undergone successful surgery as his condition is critical and he is currently under close observation. The other 07 (seven) injured have been transferred by helicopter for better treatment and all of them are out of danger.
Bangladesh Army strongly condemns this brutal terrorist attack. The sacrifice of the martyred peacekeepers will be a bright and glorious symbol of Bangladesh’s commitment to establishing world peace.
Bangladesh Army expresses its deep condolences to the bereaved families of the martyrs and wishes for the speedy recovery of the injured.
