
Chechen Poems and Tatar Folk Tales Presented in Cairo!
“Russia – Islamic World” and will present two translated books as part of the upcoming Cairo International Book Fair’s program.

Marat Gatin, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Tatarstan and Deputy Chairman of the Strategic Vision Group “Russia – Islamic World,” announced the hosting of two cultural events within the Cairo International Book Fair, which will be held from 21 January to 3 February 2026. The events are organized under the patronage of the Strategic Vision Group “Russia – Islamic World” and will present two translated books as part of the upcoming fair’s program.

The Russian diplomat extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Director of the Cairo International Book Fair, Dr. Ahmed Megahid, for his generous support of this initiative.
At 6:00 p.m. on 25 January, a presentation will be held for the poetry collection In the Shadow of My Mother by poet Suleiman-Haji Autayev (Chechen Republic), translated into Arabic by Dr. Mohamed Nasr Al-Gebaly.
Meanwhile, at 4:00 p.m. on the first day of February, a roundtable discussion will be convened on the folk tale Su Anase (The Lake Bride and the Golden Comb) by the Tatar poet Abdulla Tukay, translated into Arabic by the Egyptian writer Dr. Ashraf Aboul-Yazid.
Mr. Gatin also invited audiences interested in translated literature, poetry, and children’s literature to attend these events, which will take place in designated halls to be announced upon the opening of the highly anticipated international book fair.
