Business leaders, professionals and representatives from various sectors in Venezuela and the United States gathered in Doral to participate in the official launch of AVAN (American-Venezuelan Alliance Network). The organization was created to strengthen business relations, encourage investment and build partnerships between the United States and Venezuela.<\/p>\n
The event took place on the evening of Thursday, October 1, at the Aloft Miami Doral Hotel, where the AVAN Board of Directors hosted an inaugural cocktail reception. The event provided an opportunity to present the objectives and key areas of this new platform to business leaders, special guests and members of the media.<\/p>\n
The initiative seeks to bring together talent, capital, experience and market opportunities, with a particular focus on strategic sectors for economic development and opportunities for cooperation between businesses and institutions from both countries.<\/p>\n
AVAN President Juan Carlos Esquivel emphasized the importance of organizing and connecting the business and professional potential that exists within the Venezuelan community living in the United States during the event.<\/p>\n
\u201cAVAN was created to connect the capabilities, talents, and experiences of Venezuelan entrepreneurs and professionals living in the United States, to form strategic alliances, and to transform them into real opportunities. We are convinced that in the short and medium term, Venezuela has the potential to once again become one of the most attractive economies in Latin America, and we want to prepare to play an active role in that process from now on,\u201d Esquivel enthused.<\/p>\n
The organization has identified a wide range of sectors for the development of its initiatives. These include oil and gas, mining, construction, transportation and logistics, telecommunications, agriculture, manufacturing, trade, financial systems, healthcare, education, tourism, technology, professional services, and electricity and renewable energy.<\/p>\n
AVAN’s vision therefore goes beyond the sectors traditionally associated with the Venezuelan economy and proposes a multidimensional strategy that includes innovation, infrastructure, manufacturing, technology and talent development.<\/p>\n
One of its objectives is to establish connections between business, institutional and investment centers. According to the information provided by the organization, Miami, Washington DC and Caracas have been identified as strategic centers within this framework.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe need to start making these connections now. It requires planning, investment, knowledge and a long-term vision to unite the private sector and institutions around a common goal,\u201d board members Eligio Cedeno, Tony Cocchiola and Daniel Rodriguez told the media.<\/p>\n
In addition to principles such as transparency and accountability, AVAN’s pillars include public-private partnerships, identifying investment opportunities and promoting initiatives with measurable results.<\/p>\n
