Agreement signed between Bangladesh Armed Forces and Qatar Armed Forces on secondment of manpower

An agreement between the armed forces of the two countries has been signed between Bangladesh and Qatar Dhaka, 16 November 2025 (Sunday): The much-awaited agreement on “Recruitment of Manpower from Bangladesh Armed Forces to Qatar Armed Forces” was signed in Doha, Qatar today. The agreement was signed by the Principal Staff Officer of the Bangladesh Armed Forces Division, Lieutenant General SM Kamrul Hasan and the Chief of Staff of the Qatar Armed Forces, Lieutenant General (Pilot) Jasim bin Mohammed Al Mannai. In addition, the Honorable Ambassador of Bangladesh to Qatar, Mr. Mohammad Hazrat Ali Khan, delegation members and concerned officials of the embassy were present at the signing ceremony of the agreement.

As a result of the signing of the said agreement, members of the Bangladesh Armed Forces will be seconded to the Qatar Armed Forces will have the opportunity to be deployed. As a result, approximately 800 people will be sent to Qatar initially and there is a possibility of increasing the number of this manpower in the future. The manpower sent will be initially appointed for 03 years and subject to their performance being satisfactory, the appointment period can be extended up to 06 years. As a result of this agreement, a new door has been opened for sending skilled manpower to the Qatar Armed Forces and the existing relationship between the two countries will reach a new height. In addition, the members of Bangladesh will benefit financially and the Bangladesh Government will be able to earn a significant amount of foreign exchange.

In addition, during this visit, the Principal Staff Officer of the Armed Forces Division will discuss various issues related to bilateral interests with the Qatari Government, high-ranking officers of the Armed Forces and individuals related to the military industry. It is worth mentioning that on 21-25 April 2025, the Honorable Chief Advisor to the Government of Bangladesh, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, visited Qatar on the occasion of the “Arthana” Conference. At that time, he discussed various issues of bilateral interest with leading figures of the Qatari government. The visit and fruitful diplomacy of the Honorable Chief Advisor has expedited the signing of this agreement between the Bangladesh Armed Forces and the Qatari Armed Forces.
