Top terrorist Osman, accused in 18 cases including illegal weapons and bullets, arrested in a joint operation by Chittagong District Intelligence Branch and Hathazari Police Station

Osman Gani Mona (35), accused in multiple cases including illegal weapons, bullets, domestic weapons and cash, has been arrested in a joint operation by Chittagong District Intelligence Branch and Hathazari Police Station.

 

Based on a secret information, on April 26, 2026, at approximately 2:55 pm, the operation was conducted in a five-story building in Chikandandi Union under Hathazari Police Station. A large amount of illegal weapons and other equipment were recovered from the possession and custody of the accused during the operation.

 

A foreign 7.65 pistol (with magazine), three single-barrel shotguns, 11 rounds of 7.65 pistol live ammunition, rifle bullets, 17 rounds of shotgun cartridges, domestic sharp weapons (chhapati and switch gear knife), 51,000 (fifty-one thousand) taka in cash, multiple mobile phones of different models and other items were seized during the operation.

 

During the initial interrogation, the accused provided information about his involvement in illegal arms trade, leading various terrorist activities and collecting and selling weapons in different areas.

 

A regular case has been registered against the arrested accused at Hathazari Model Police Station under the relevant sections of the Arms Act 1878. At the same time, it is known from the CDMS review that there are 18 cases against him including murder, robbery, drugs and weapons.

 

Such operations will continue to recover illegal weapons and suppress terrorist activities.
