Wednesday, a 12-member delegation from the Brahmin priest community of his constituency paid a courtesy call on Barrister Kaiser Kamal, MP, Deputy Speaker of the National Parliament of Bangladesh, at his office in the Parliament Building.

During the meeting, the Deputy Speaker inquired about the Brahmin priest community and exchanged heartfelt greetings with them. He said that people of different religions and communities coexist peacefully in his constituency. In order for people of all classes and professions in the area to gain a direct idea of the National Parliament, everyone is being invited to visit the Parliament Building and observe the Parliament session in phases.

He also said that the Brahmin priest delegation has arrived today. Earlier, a delegation from the Christian community, an Imam delegation, a Hajong community delegation and teachers and students of Durgapur Women’s Degree College had arrived. His goal is that people of all professions and communities in the area should know about the Parliament.

At this time, Brahmin priest community members Bireshwar Chakraborty, Mintu Bhaduri, Apresh Chakraborty, Gautam Chakraborty, Bimal Chowdhury, Utpal Sharma, Ratan Sharma, Sujoy Sharma, Manik Chakraborty, Keshav Lal Chakraborty, Sajoy Chakraborty and Samaresh Chakraborty expressed their gratitude and gratitude to him for giving them the opportunity to come to the Parliament building and for being appointed Deputy Speaker as the children of Durgapur.

They said that as a Hindu community, they are often neglected. However, they want to set an example by participating in the development of Durgapur with the help of the Deputy Speaker. They addressed the Deputy Speaker as ‘Raja’, recited the Gita and prayed to God for his well-being. They also presented him with an Uttarani gift and invited him to renovate the puja mandap, introduce priest allowance and participate in religious ceremonies.

In response, the Deputy Speaker said that there will be no negligence in allocating funds for temples in the area. Efforts will be made to do whatever is necessary for the welfare of the Brahmin priestly community. Information about the funds allocated for mosques, temples and churches will be made public through social media.

He also said, “We are all human beings—our blood is red for all. Who is Muslim, who is Hindu, who is Christian, who is Buddhist—we are all Bangladeshis.” He mentioned that although in the past, state service was seen as party-based, he promised to forget the differences and stand by everyone regardless of party affiliation.

He emphasized on strengthening education, sports and cultural practices to keep the youth free from drugs.
