Bangladesh Consumer Rights Protection Foundation celebrates World Consumer Rights Day

World Consumer Rights Day 2024 Bangladesh Consumer Rights Protection Foundation has been celebrating the day since 2001 through various programs including national rallies. The day started with a colorful rally from Motijheel Shapla square under the leadership of Lion Muhammad Noor Islam, the chairman of the organization. The national rally went around different places in the city and came to the front of the national press club. The first phase ended with a discussion.
In the second phase, the speakers accused the Ministry of Commerce of improper use of the Consumer Rights Act, including price gouging, counterfeiting, fraud and irregularities in administrative services. Bangladesh Buyer-Consumer Rights Protection Foundation chairman Lion Noor Islam presided over the discussion meeting which was attended by eminent people from various professions. At this time, the speakers proposed the creation of a cell against various irregularities and corruption in the country. The bureaucratic complexity of the country is not new, therefore the Hon’ble Prime Minister sought the intervention of the formation of a cell with experienced people related to private affairs.
At the same time, he sought the sincere intervention of the Commerce Minister to coordinate the consumer organizations for proper use of the Consumer Rights Act.
