Bangladesh-US 10th Land Forces Talks (LFT)-2026 Successfully Concluded

The Bangladesh-US joint 10th Land Forces Talks (LFT)-2026 has been successfully concluded.

The two-day event was concluded on 26 and 27 October 2026 at the Army Multipurpose Complex, Dhaka Cantonment.

Representatives of the armies of both the countries participated in this meeting and fruitful discussions were held on various important issues to enhance mutual cooperation between them.

Before the start of the meeting, on 26 October 2026, the Chief of Army Staff General Waqar-uz-Zaman, SBP, OSP, SGP, psc, paid a courtesy call on the Head of the US delegation, Major General Giles J. S. Cornelia, Deputy Commanding General for Strategy and Plans, United States Army Pacific Command (USARPAC).

A delegation from Bangladesh participated in the discussion, led by Brigadier General Syed Ashiqur Rahman, SPP, PBGM, NWC, PSC, Director, Directorate of Military Training, Bangladesh Army.

During this discussion, both sides discussed in detail various aspects of strengthening military cooperation, enhancing efficiency and strategic partnership. During this time, special emphasis was placed on exchanging training and experience, increasing the ability to use advanced technology and military equipment, and expanding mutual cooperation.

In addition, a consensus was reached on taking coordinated preparations and effective measures to deal with natural and man-made disasters. Such a meeting is expected to play an important role in strengthening military relations between the two countries and increasing the capabilities and progress of the defense sector.
