INTERNATIONAL CONCLAVE FOR PEACE HELD AT THE UNITED NATIONS HEADQUARTERS IN NEW YORK

New York, USA / September 11, 2026 — The United Nations Headquarters in New York served as the setting for the International Conclave for Peace, an important gathering dedicated to promoting the values of peace, understanding, dialogue, and cooperation among peoples and nations.

The event was organized by the United Nations Global Peace Council (UNGPC), under the leadership of its President, Dr. Barkhaa Versha, and brought together diplomats, international leaders, peace advocates, academics, social representatives, and members of diverse communities committed to building a more united and peaceful world.

The Conclave provided a forum for dialogue and reflection on the challenges facing the international community. Throughout the event, discussions addressed issues related to peacebuilding, conflict resolution, diplomacy, education, human rights, youth leadership, cultural coexistence, and sustainable development.

Participants agreed that achieving lasting and sustainable peace requires more than agreements between governments. It also calls for the active participation of international institutions, civil society organizations, community leaders, young people, and citizens, strengthening dialogue and cooperation as essential tools for addressing differences.

The event also highlighted the achievements of individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions in areas such as humanitarian work, education, social development, peacebuilding, and the promotion of harmony among communities.

The program included keynote speeches, special presentations, and panel discussions, offering different perspectives on the current challenges involved in achieving greater stability, cooperation, and international understanding.

RECOGNITIONS TO AMBASSADOR LUIS SUÁREZ HERNÁNDEZ

The event concluded with an awards and recognition ceremony, presided over by distinguished guest of honor Ambassador Luis Suárez Hernández, philanthropist and President and Chief Executive Officer of the Suarez Museum of Natural Science and History, who participated in this significant international gathering.

During the ceremony, the United Nations Global Peace Council had the honor of presenting Dr. Luis Suárez Hernández with two important trophies in recognition of his contributions and commitment to society.

The first was the “United Nations Global Excellence Awards” trophy, presented to Dr. Luis Suárez Hernández for his “sincere contribution and excellent achievement towards the growth of society in their respective fields,” recognizing his commitment and contributions through his various areas of work.

The second recognition was the trophy dedicated to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations, a global framework consisting of 17 goals aimed at promoting sustainable, inclusive, and equitable development.

The 17 Sustainable Development Goals build upon decades of work by countries and the United Nations, including the work of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), and represent an international commitment to advancing a more sustainable future for present and future generations.
