Dhaka, 02 April 2026 (Thursday): The 4-day Bangladesh-Turkey 4th Army Staff Talks (AST) 2026 concluded successfully today at the Army Multipurpose Complex in Dhaka Cantonment from 30 March 2026 to 02 April 2026. Representatives of the armies of both the countries participated in this high-level meeting and fruitful discussions were held on various important issues to enhance mutual cooperation between them.
An 18-member delegation from Bangladesh participated in the discussions, led by Brigadier General Md. Humayun Kabir, SUP (Bar), SPP, NDC, PSC, MPhil, Director of the Military Training Directorate of the Bangladesh Army. The 3-member delegation from Turkey was led by Colonel Kader Ozyurek, Head of the Military Relations and Strategy Department of Turkey.
During this discussion, both sides discussed various aspects of military cooperation, capacity building and strategic cooperation. The discussion emphasized on training exchange, increasing the ability to use advanced technology and military equipment, and mutual cooperation between the two sides. In particular, organizing multiple joint training and exercises to increase military capacity, innovative training methods, and more effective joint cooperation were discussed in detail.
In terms of army and military strategy, such meetings are expected to pave the way for significant progress in the defense sector of both countries.
