Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) is committed to implementing the Zero Tolerance policy against drugs as directed by the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. In continuation of this, Rapid Action Battalion-15 is working relentlessly with sincerity to eradicate various crimes prevalent in the society including drugs, kidnapping, murder, robbery and snatching.
As you know, some organized gangs of neighboring countries plan to illegally cross this large consignment of drugs through the Teknaf and Ukhia border areas and hand them over to the local syndicate. Later, they are supplying it to different parts of the country including Cox’s Bazar. This drug is spreading all over the country through various channels. Due to this, our youth are getting addicted to drugs and getting involved in various crimes. Rapid Action Battalion-15 is working tirelessly to curb the spread of drugs across the country, including conducting intelligence surveillance and conducting anti-drug operations in various places under its jurisdiction.
In continuation of this, on June 11th, at around 02.30 am, a smart operation team of RAB-15 Teknaf camp learned based on secret information that members of some notorious drug trafficking gangs from neighboring Myanmar were secretly bringing a huge consignment of drugs to the Teknaf police station area of Cox’s Bazar district. Based on that information, at around 04.30 am today, the smart operation team conducted a raid on the land of Md. Kabir Hossain, a resident of Mandal Para, on the south side of Sabrang Canal in Sabrang Union, while the yaba dealers were entering the country with yaba. When they tried to escape after sensing the presence of RAB, RAB members were able to arrest 02 Myanmar national drug dealers involved in an international drug ring. Another 4/5 unidentified Yaba dealers ran away, efforts are underway to collect their names and addresses. During interrogation, the arrested drug dealers confessed that they illegally crossed the border and brought this large consignment of Yaba from Myanmar. A total of 5,00,000 (five lakh) pieces of Yaba were found in it.
