New Secretary General of National Journalists’ Association Md. Shoaib Rahman An emergency discussion meeting was held at the National Journalists’ Association Conference Hall Room, Purana Paltan L. Mallick Complex, on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at 4 pm. The meeting was presided over by the Chairman of the organization, Mr. Lion Md. Nur Islam. Mr. Lion Md. Helal Uddin Hilu was in overall management. In today’s discussion meeting, former Secretary General Lion Mohammad Helal Uddin Hilu was promoted to the post of Vice Chairman, former Joint Secretary General Md. Shoaib Rahman was promoted to the post of Secretary General. And Vice Chairman Md. Rakib Uddin Rana, Md. Tofail Ahmed Kaiser, Children and Women’s Affairs Secretary Taslima Akhter, Science and Technology Affairs Secretary HM Emon. The newly elected leaders were welcomed by the chairman and the central leaders of the organization with flower garlands and the chairman urged them to fulfill their responsibilities properly and work for the journalists of the organization. The newly elected leaders pledged that they would fulfill their due responsibilities in the interest of taking the organization forward. The newly elected Secretary General said that strengthening the organizational activities of the organization with his experience and hard work is his first task and his responsibility is to gradually establish the organization as a more advanced organization in Bangladesh and the world. Also present at the event were Vice Chairman of the Central Committee, Ad Md. Altaf Hossain, Lion ABM Sobhan Howlader, Joint Secretary General, Md. Sawki Biplob, Lion Md. Shariful Islam, Finance Secretary Mufti Sheikh Azimuddin, Joint Organizing Secretary Razia Turna, Md. Ripon Hossain, Tourism Secretary Asadullah Amin, Dhaka Divisional President Md. Sohag Islam, Religious Affairs Secretary Md. Abul Bashar, Library and Literature Secretary Maria Akhter, Co-Cultural Affairs Secretary Imarat Hossain Emon, Co-Tourism Affairs Secretary Nurunnahar Chowdhury Alpana, Co-Office Secretary Md. Saidul Islam, Executive Secretary Md. Aminul Islam and leaders of various units. The event was moderated by Md. Rezaul Islam Lucky. Organizing Secretary, Central Executive Council. The event ended with the chairman’s closing speech and prayers for Shaheed Osman Hadi.
