On December 22, the Embassy of Russia held a press conference titled “Political outcomes of 2025”.

In the course of the event, Alexander Khozin, Ambassador of Russia to Bangladesh, and senior diplomats covered bilateral relations of our countries, including trade and energy cooperation. As for Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant, Bangladeshi media were briefed on the current stage of the implementation of the project, which is undergoing final construction works and mandatory tests.

The diplomats stressed that Russia and Bangladesh share traditional spiritual and moral values, enjoy positive interaction within the UN and other multilateral organizations, as well as jointly advocate for establishing fair multipolar world order. The Ambassador commented on the reasons of the Ukrainian crisis and prospects of its solution.

As for cultural and educational agenda, Alexandra Khlevnoy, Director of the Russian House, emphasized that 2025 was marked by a plethora of memorable events dedicated to main Russian and Bangladeshi holidays, and 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Second World War. She also pointed out a huge interest of Bangladeshi youth to higher education in Russia.

The briefing prompted a vivid discussion, with numerous questions from Bangladeshi media.

At the end of the press conference the guest of the Russian Embassy film director Dmitry Khrustalev told the journalists about International film festival “RT.DOC: Time of Our Heroes” and showed a teaser of the event. The audience was also invited to the presentation of the RT documentary “Nuremberg: Time for Truth” to be held in the Russian House on the following day.
