Bangladesh’s deadly addiction, yaba, has become a daily profitable business for illegal drug dealers, but they remain unaware of how harmful this yaba is to a person. These drug dealers sit next to respected people in society wearing good clothes, and sometimes cooperate in small matters to show off, but they come to the attention of the administration, which is a huge drama. However, the government has issued strict laws against drug dealers and drug dealers. If this law becomes effective, the concerned are expressing the fear that these drug dealers and illegal drug traders will be limited.
Some organized gangs from neighboring countries plan to illegally cross this large consignment of drugs through the Teknaf and Ukhia border areas and hand it over to the local syndicate. Later, it is being supplied to various parts of the country including Cox’s Bazar. This drug is spreading all over the country through various channels. Due to this, our youth are getting addicted to drugs and getting involved in various crimes. To prevent the spread of drugs across the country, Rapid Action Battalion-15 is working relentlessly to suppress various crimes in the society, including conducting intelligence surveillance and constant anti-drug operations in various places under its responsibility.
In continuation of this, at approximately 12:00 pm today, a smart operation team of RAB-15 Teknaf camp while stationed at Shapla Chattar in Teknaf Police Station Municipality came to know based on secret information that some foreign nationals have crossed the Myanmar border and illegally entered Bangladesh from Myanmar via the Naf River with drugs and are staying on the unpaved road of the paddy field canal, south of the fish enclosure of one Fazal Karim, father of the deceased Nazir Ahmed, in Nazirpara area of Sadar UP under Teknaf Police Station in Cox’s Bazar district with drugs called Yaba tablets for the purpose of supplying and selling to Bangladeshi drug dealers. Based on the said information, the smart operation team conducted a raid at the mentioned place at approximately 04:20 am today. Sensing the presence of RAB, the RAB members were able to catch 02 (two) persons while they were trying to run away. A total of 5,60,000 (five lakh sixty thousand) pieces of Yaba were found in the two bags with them, which were duly seized and whose estimated value is said to be 20,00,00,000/-(twenty crores) Taka. During interrogation of the arrested persons, they admitted that they were citizens of Myanmar.
Both the arrested drug dealers are residents of Myanmar
1. Karim Ali (32), father-Abdul Ali, village: Suliyapara, Thana-Fortu, District-Pindisong.
2. Hassan Araf (44), father-Syed Hossain, village-Daliapara, Thana-Maungdu, District-Maungdu, Province-Rakhine (Arakan).
Also, in another operation yesterday, August 01, 2026, at approximately 17.25 pm, RAB-15’s CPC-1 was able to arrest 01 drug dealer with 40 thousand pieces of Yaba from the Baraitoli area of Teknaf Sadar Union and a case has already been filed in Teknaf Police Station and the accused has been handed over.
For your further information, it is being informed that in the last 10 days, Rapid Action Battalion-15 has recovered about 8 lakh pieces of Yaba, 76.2 kg of marijuana, 07 different models of firearms, 77 rounds of bullets and 02 kidnapped victims in various operations. Along with this, a total of 42 accused sentenced to death, life imprisonment and various terms have been arrested.
On this matter, the Rapid Action Battalion RAB-15 Cox’s Bazar held an official press conference to highlight their success and explain the successful operation and said that legal action is under process against all the arrested criminals.
