Ecuador Advances 256 MW Solar Project with Investment Exceeding USD 243 Million

Quito, Ecuador – Under the initiatives driven by President Daniel Noboa’s administration, Ecuador continues to advance the development of new strategic projects to strengthen and diversify its energy matrix.

A key highlight is the La Ceita Solar Project, structured in three phases—89 MW, 100 MW, and 67 MW—with a projected total capacity of 256 megawatts (MW) and an estimated investment exceeding USD 243 million.

Stratech S.A., an Indian company based in Ecuador, is participating in the development and structuring of this initiative, working in coordination with technical and financial teams as well as international stakeholders.

The project also entails the advancement of the La Avanzada Substation and Transmission Project and plans for the use of a sovereign guarantee instrument within its financial structure, aiming to facilitate the participation of financial institutions and support the transition to the implementation phase.

This initiative marks another step in Ecuador’s efforts to attract international investment, strengthen its electrical infrastructure, and expand its renewable energy generation capacity.
